We are looking for a EHS Specialist to join our team. 

What you will do: 

The role of the EHS Specialist is, through working closely with relevant group companies, to provide support focusing on all aspects of health and safety management for all Galetech Group and contractors across the business.

This will involve the identification, development and implementation of policies, procedures, training and site auditing; accident and incident investigation; and reporting key safety metrics to ensure compliance with all safety obligations and to proactively manage safety.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide EHS support to the Galetech group of companies, including the implementation of a Safety Management System, performing site audits, participation at team workshops, attendance at hearings and report compilation.

  • Carry out EHS inductions, training, department self-inspections, risk assessments, and auditing to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

  • Work closely with key stakeholders across the business to understand systems gaps and support needs – implementing improvement opportunities where identified to ensure all aspects of their business are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

  • Supporting the EHS audit programme. Inputting into the audit management system to record and monitor actions arising from internal and external audits, and tracking actions to close-out.

  • Incident investigation and tracking incidents to closure.

  • Setting and achieving team goals and objectives, according to agreed metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

  • Support the development and implementation of a formal safety management system (e.g. ISO 45001).

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role, with particular experience energy and/or constructions safety management.

  • Degree qualification or equivalent in EHS.

  • Ability to manage stakeholder relationships, demonstrable communication skills and ability to influence.

  • Strong oral communication and IT skills.

  • Excellent presentation skills.

  • Self-starter with demonstrated efficient work methods, analytical & problem solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.
