Workshop Gearbox Fitter

Job Description:

• Working in a workshop environment to carry out repairs/refurbishment of industrial and wind turbine gearboxes.

• Fault finding and problem solving.

• Use of hydraulic and power tools.

• Complete detailed reports with supporting pictures of all works.

• Maintain a clean/tidy work environment.

• Chance to work within a team of experienced engineers.

• Opportunity for further training i.e borescope, faro arm, turbine safety training

Skills Required: (Essential)

• Mechanical Fitting

• Hydraulic and Power tool experience

• Great attention to detail

• Proactive hands-on person

• Flexible in regards working hours and overtime.

• Good understanding of health, safety and environmental considerations.

• Computer Literate

• Able to work within a team and on your own initiative

• Full/Clean Driving License

Skills Required: (Desirable) May be used to further enhance the selection process.

• Previous experience working on Wind Turbines.

• Global Wind Organisation approved training.

• Previous gearbox experience.

• Bearing handling

• Borescope inspections.

• Fault Finding/Diagnostics.

• Measurement experience using vernier calipers, micrometers, faro arm
