Our wind farms help power communities
Each year, a Community Benefit Fund is opened to support local projects that make a difference in the areas surrounding our wind farms.
Local community groups, schools, and voluntary organisations can apply for funding. The fund is designed to support projects that strengthen communities, promote sustainability and education and enhance local facilities and services

Listening & Engaging with our Communities
Community consultation is at the heart of how we plan, design, and deliver our projects.
We engage early and openly to:
- Share clear and transparent information about proposed projects
- Listen to community feedback and concerns
- Work together to find solutions and enhance local benefits
- Build trust through meaningful dialogue
Our Process
Early site selection briefings with local authority and key stakeholders. Initial public information events to explain why the site was chosen and how the project could work. Launch of project website or online portal. Door-to-door information drops, newsletters or mail-outs to nearby residents. Appointment of a Community Liaison Officer as a dedicated point of contact. Open channels for early feedback, concerns, or ideas.
Goal: Transparency from the outset and to shape the project with community input, not after decisions are made.

Carrickallen 2023 fund - Digital Literacy Programme
“This project has had a wonderful impact on pupil's motivation to learn. Through using the laptops, they are gaining valuable digital literacy skills while enjoying their learning. The laptops are used across the curriculum for numeracy, literacy, history, geography and science projects, greatly adding to our ability to facilitate STEAM lessons.”

Cootehill Tidy Towns
“Cootehill Tidy Towns have benefited very much from the grant we have been awarded by SECAD.
This grant has allowed our group to work on our Biodiversity objectives by creating a Wild Flower
Patch. It has enabled our group to extend our flower planting in the town with the installation of 10
Street Poles on Bridge Street.”

Mountain Lodge - Cootehill Community Childcare
“We here as workers and on behalf of the Board of Management are very grateful to have being
awarded this grant to put towards this wonderful project to be able to install 20 solar panels which will help the service on a daily basis for all our staff and children who will benefit with hot/warm running water everyday and will also bring down the cost of our ESB bills per year and immersion bills. we are very Thankful to be chosen to help fund this project”
