Galetech Launches Pollinator Program

Thank you to The Anglo Celt for covering the launch of our Pollinator program. Gratitute also goes to the Teachers and Transition Year students from St. Patrick's College, Cavan who joined us at our launch at Carrickallen Wind Farm and who started our rewilding.

At Galetech Group we are already leading Ireland’s transition from it’s reliance on carbon omitting energy to more sustainable and renewable alternatives through our wind and solar farm development work. Encouraged by directives from the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan (AIPP), Wind Energy Ireland and the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage we are proud to be the first renewable developers in Ireland to take Ireland’s pollination promotion plans to another level by taking action to rewild our suitable sites.

One third of our bee species are threatened with extinction in Ireland. This is because we have drastically reduced the amount of food (flowers) and safe nesting sites in our landscapes. Our goal is that we will inspire others to take action to try and create an Ireland where pollinators can not only survive but also thrive.
