Challenge

Resolve a meter-gate shortfall masked by healthy turbine SCADA data, and persuade stakeholders to investigate when initial OEM feedback indicated “no issue.”

Solution

Compared potential vs. actual power: turbine SCADA showed no problem; substation metered data showed the gate shortfall.
Procured temporary sub-meters at generators and substation to localise the error.
Root cause: incorrect cable screening in a control unit causing inaccurate CT/VT readings.
Coordinated rectification while keeping OEM engaged.
