Another success milestone for Galetech Energy Developments Ltd.
The pouring of the first foundations has begun at Cloghan Wind Farm. When operational this wind farm will generate enough electricity to power over 34,500 homes, which is equivalent to powering every house in Co. Offaly 🟩⬜️🟧
In 2009, the location of Cloghan Wind Farm was just a red ❌on a 🗺map. After 11 years’ of development the site is now key to Ireland 🇮🇪 achieving it’s Climate Action goals, and the EU 🇪🇺reaching it’s Energy Target of #70by30.
Galetech Energy Developments were instrumental in:
✔️securing cooperation from all landowners
✔️processing 4 successful planning applications, including a planning grant to develop 9 turbines at 169 meter tip height each
✔️submitting a planning grant to connect the site to the national grid through 6.5km of underground cable
Statkraft one of the world’s largest renewable developers acquired Cloghan Wind Farm in 2020.
