Galetech Group has announced a commitment to invest £3 million (€3.5 million) in expanding its renewable energy services across the United Kingdom over the next five years.
The announcement was made during the UK–Ireland Summit held in Cork this week, where business leaders from the energy, infrastructure and construction sectors gathered at Cork City Hall to strengthen economic collaboration between the two countries.
The investment forms part of £937 million in new Irish investment into the UK, announced alongside commitments from Taoiseach Micheál Martin and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer to deepen bilateral cooperation on energy, infrastructure and trade.
Supporting the Next Phase of UK Renewable Growth
As part of its expansion strategy, Galetech Group plans to create up to 30 highly skilled roles by 2030, increasing its capacity to deliver services across the renewable energy value chain.
The company’s growth plans align with the UK government’s Clean Power 2030 Action Plan, which sets national priorities around accelerating renewable energy deployment, strengthening energy security, and delivering critical infrastructure.
Galetech will support developers, utilities, asset owners, investment funds and large energy users with end-to-end renewable energy services, including:
Early-stage development and planning support
Engineering and consenting
Construction assurance
Operational performance optimisation
Repowering and life-extension services
Decommissioning and asset lifecycle management
This integrated approach enables clients to reduce delivery risk while accelerating the deployment of clean energy infrastructure.
Building on an Established UK Presence
Galetech Group already has a significant footprint in the UK renewable energy sector.
Through its investment in Northampton-based Adamas Wind, the company currently provides monitoring and maintenance services for over 1 gigawatt (GW) of renewable energy projects.
The new investment will further scale Galetech’s UK delivery capability, with a focus on regions experiencing strong renewable growth and grid reinforcement activity, including:
Scotland
North East England
South West England
These regions are expected to play a critical role in the UK’s transition toward a low-carbon energy system.

Supporting Clean Power 2030
Darren Sherry, Director at Galetech Group, said:
“Galetech Group is delighted to announce a £3 million investment as part of our continued expansion in the UK’s renewable energy value chain. This investment is very timely as the UK’s connections reform programme is re-ordering and accelerating the grid queue. This will prioritise deliverable projects aligned with Clean Power 2030, creating immediate demand for partners who can reduce delivery friction across planning, engineering, compliance, commissioning and lifecycle optimisation. Our investment will focus on supporting the scale of renewable energy infrastructure, improving lifecycle opportunities, and enhancing solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) momentum in Scotland, the Northeast and the Southwest.”
Strengthening UK–Ireland Energy Collaboration
The announcement was welcomed by Kara Owen, British Ambassador to Ireland, who highlighted the importance of Irish investment in supporting UK economic growth.
“Today’s summit shows the real momentum behind Irish investment into the UK. I am delighted to welcome Galetech Group’s announcement of their £3 million investment and plans to create up to 30 highly skilled roles as they scale their UK renewables capability over the next five years. As one of 15 Irish companies announcing £937 million in new investment and 850 jobs across the UK, Galetech Group is helping to drive growth across Scotland, the Northeast and Southwest of England.”
A Strategic Step in the Energy Transition
For over 25 years, Galetech Group has supported renewable energy development across Ireland and internationally, providing services spanning project development, engineering, construction supervision, operations and maintenance, inspections, asset performance and sustainable building solutions. This latest investment reflects the company’s confidence in the UK renewable energy market and the growing opportunities created by government commitments to clean energy, infrastructure delivery and long-term energy security.
