Mountain Lodge Wind Farm

The Mountain Lodge Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund is delighted to support a range of local schools, clubs and voluntary organisations in 2026, helping to bring valuable community projects to life across the area.

This year’s successful projects reflect the variety of work being carried out by local groups, from improving safety and accessibility to supporting young people, enhancing community facilities and creating new spaces for biodiversity and recreation.

Kill Shamrocks GAA will develop a new pedestrian bridge over the stream leading to its training pitch. The project will provide a safer route for members, particularly younger players and families, by separating pedestrians from vehicles accessing the grounds.

Dernakesh National School will create an outdoor mud kitchen and café-style seating area, providing pupils with a fun and creative space for imaginative play while supporting communication, social development and wellbeing.

Kill National School will expand its collection of sensory, occupational therapy and physical education equipment. The additional resources will help the school provide more inclusive opportunities for pupils with a range of needs and abilities.

Knockbride GAA will purchase new gym and GAA equipment to enhance the facilities available to its members and support health, fitness and sporting participation within the local community.

Lavey Community First Responders will invest in vital lifesaving and training equipment, including AED equipment and replacement components for existing defibrillators, helping the volunteer group continue to provide an important service to the wider community.

West Knockbride Parents Association will provide new basketball hoops for activities at Tunnyduff Hall, adding to the equipment available for local primary school children and supporting active play and after-school activities.

Laragh United GAA will progress an exciting biodiversity and ecology project alongside the Stradone River. The plans include a wetlands area, native wildlife habitat and a reflection area, creating a new natural space for both club members and the wider community to enjoy.

Knockbride Foróige will purchase new equipment to enhance its weekly youth club activities, helping to provide engaging social and recreational opportunities for young people in Knockbride and the surrounding rural communities.

Knockbride Festival Committee will receive support towards its Family Fun Day, bringing the community together for a local event with activities for all ages.

The Mountain Lodge Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund is proud to support the people and organisations working to make a positive difference in their communities. Each of these projects responds to a local need and will help create opportunities, facilities and experiences that can be enjoyed across the community.

We look forward to seeing these projects progress throughout 2026 and to sharing their stories as they come to life.
