Delivering Confidence Across the Full Project Lifecycle

Galetech has played a central role in Ireland’s renewable energy landscape, supporting wind projects from early stage development through to operational performance and grid compliance.

The requirement remains consistent across every phase, reliable, accepted data that reduces risk and supports informed decisions.

Our approach reflects that. We focus on;

  • Accurate measurement in real world conditions

  • Consistent, repeatable data delivery

  • Long-term support across the lifecycle of an asset

This is not just about collecting data. It’s about ensuring that data stands up to scrutiny from engineers, operators, and financial stakeholders alike.

A Partnership Built in the Field

Our trusted partnership with ZX Lidars mirrors the advancement of wind measurement technology itself. From early Zx 300 Lidars like the 304 unit through to today’s ZX 300e lidars, we’ve worked with each generation in practical, operational environments.

This experience has shaped how we deploy and manage lidar systems today. It’s not about individual components it’s about building a measurement system that works reliably over time.

Kieran Elliott

"Our value proposition is simple, we reduce risk. Good data leads to better project design, stronger planning applications, and greater confidence for investors and developers alike. That only comes from experience - understanding how these systems perform over time, across different sites and conditions.”

- Kieran Elliott, Managing Director, Galetech Measurement Services

As outlined in our brand principles, we are client-focused, practical, and solutions-driven, combining expertise with a clear, direct approach to communication and delivery.

Unit #304: Experience That Delivers

Some stories are best told through experience.

Unit #304, first deployed in 2015, is one of the most widely used systems in our fleet. Over its lifetime, it has supported campaigns across Ireland, Europe, and Africa from early resource assessment through to operational monitoring.

In Ireland alone, it has been involved in more than 20 campaigns. Internationally, it has supported projects such as the 100MW Kipeto Wind Farm in Kenya.

What makes this significant isn’t just the number of deployments. It’s the continuity.

Over time, our team develops a deep understanding of each system how it performs, how to maintain it, and how to ensure consistent data quality in varying conditions. That familiarity allows us to move quickly and deliver with confidence, even in demanding environments.

From Campaigns to Operational Infrastructure

Wind measurement is evolving.

What began as short term development campaigns has grown into long term operational monitoring. Today, lidar systems are increasingly integrated into wind farm operations, supporting:

  • Ongoing resource assessment

  • Performance monitoring

  • Forecasting and grid compliance

In Ireland, this shift is particularly evident. As grid requirements become more demanding, the need for high quality, continuous meteorological data has increased. Since Eirgrid have approved the Zx300 & Zx300e lidar for permanent lidar installations they are now recognised as part of operational infrastructure not just temporary tools.

From our experience, the value lies in continuity. Whether deployed during development or integrated into an operational wind farm, LiDAR systems provide consistent, ongoing insight without the planning constraints, lead times, and fixed positioning associated with permanent met mast installation.

Delivering in Different Environments

While Ireland remains our core market, international projects have expanded our perspective.

Deployments in regions such as Kenya introduce additional challenges logistics, infrastructure, and environmental conditions. Despite these differences, the fundamentals remain the same:

  • Robust, reliable measurement technology

  • Strong communications and power systems

  • Disciplined monitoring and data verification

These principles allow us to deliver consistent results, regardless of location.

Delivering Confidence Across the Full Project Lifecycle

A Consistent Approach, Built Over Time

Our role is simple we reduce risk by delivering data our clients can trust.

That principle has guided our work for more than 14 years.

As technology continues to evolve, the tools may change but the approach does not. We combine practical experience, reliable systems, and a clear focus on delivery to support our clients at every stage of their projects. Because in real world conditions, consistency matters.
