  • 740 MW One Earth Solar Project | Galetech Group

Improve solar project bankability with high-quality measurement. Learn how One Earth reduced yield uncertainty and strengthened financial performance. 740 MW One Earth Solar Project The One Earth Solar Project is a proposed 740 MW solar development in the UK being developed by Perigus Energy and PS Renewables (PADERO SOLAER LTD). During the early development phase, Galetech Measurement Services installed on-site solar monitoring equipment to collect high-quality solar resource data. The objective of the measurement campaign is to validate the site's solar resource and provide a more accurate foundation for energy yield assessments. By obtaining reliable, site-specific data at an early stage, the project team can reduce uncertainty, strengthen financial modelling, and support informed investment and financing decisions throughout the project's lifecycle. Client Ørsted and PS Renewables Capacity 740MW Location UK Architect Challenge For large-scale solar developments, energy yield assessments are often based on satellite-derived datasets and long-term modelling assumptions. While these datasets provide valuable insight, they can introduce uncertainty when used without site-specific validation. For a project the scale of One Earth Solar Project, uncertainty in solar resource data can impact: - Confidence in energy yield forecasts - Financing and lender due diligence processes - Debt Service Coverage Ratio (DSCR) assessments - Investment committee approvals - Long-term revenue projections and risk analysis Reducing uncertainty early in the development process is critical to improving project bankability and securing favourable financing terms. Solution Galetech Measurement Services deployed solar monitoring equipment on site to obtain high-quality, ground-based solar resource measurements. These measurements provide an independent validation of the site's solar resource and support the development of more accurate energy yield models. By improving the quality of the underlying resource data, the project team can strengthen the assumptions used in financial modelling and risk assessments. The measurement campaign enables developers and investors to make decisions based on robust, site-specific data rather than relying solely on regional or satellite-derived estimates. Outcome The implementation of an early-stage solar measurement campaign delivers significant value across both technical and financial aspects of the project. Key benefits include: - Increased confidence in bankable energy yield estimates - Reduced yield uncertainty and a narrower P50–P90 range - Greater lender confidence and improved DSCR resilience - Enhanced flexibility in capital structuring - Improved risk-adjusted returns for investors - Reduced long-term revenue volatility over the asset life For a project of this scale, the investment in high-quality solar resource data helps de-risk later-stage financing, supports investment committee approvals, enables more efficient capital deployment, and enhances the project's attractiveness to long-term institutional investors. By strengthening the foundation of energy yield assessments from the outset, the One Earth Solar Project is better positioned for successful financing, development, and long-term operational performance.
